Sustainable and responsibly insurable
Thialf wanted to become more sustainable with solar panels and an energy storage system. It was important that these innovative solutions were not only technically sound, but also safe and insurable.
The Challenge
The solar panels did not meet the applicable standards and therefore proved to be uninsurable. For the battery storage system as well, the risks, measures and insurance requirements had to be carefully aligned beforehand.
Our Approach
Our risk engineer, together with insurers and technical parties, mapped out all risks and requirements. After implementing the correct measures, the solar panels were once again Scope 12 certified. In addition, we advised on a safe and insurable set-up of the energy storage system.
The Result
The solar panels could be safely put back into use and Thialf gained more control over risks, energy costs and continuity. Thanks to short lines of communication and a solution-oriented collaboration, we do not look at what is not possible, but at how it can be done.
