Sustainable and responsibly insurable
Thialf wanted to become more sustainable with solar panels and an energy storage system. In doing so, it was important that these innovative solutions were not only technically sound, but also safe and insurable.
The challenge
The solar panels did not meet the applicable standards and therefore proved to be uninsurable. The risks, measures and insurance requirements for the battery storage system also had to be carefully coordinated in advance.
Our approach
Together with insurers and technical parties, our risk engineer mapped out all the risks and requirements. After implementing the correct measures, the solar panels were once again Scope 12-inspected. In addition, we advised on a safe and insurable set-up of the energy storage system.
The result
The solar panels could be safely put back into use and Thialf gained more control over risks, energy costs and continuity. Thanks to short communication lines and a solution-oriented collaboration, we do not look at what is not possible, but at how it can be achieved.
